Why will Turbo Tax not allow me to update Code 20-Amount (TP) from 0. to blank on my state file

I did everything I could and I still don't understand why its not letting me go past it. I read somewhere that I need to delete the Cookie and Cache, however that didn't work either. There is also another Tab in when I scroll down and I thought I should left that one blank too but its not working. Please Advise.

We'd love to help you complete your tax return but need more information. Can you please clarify your question?

  • What do you mean by Code 20?
  • What state are you in?
  • Was this part of a Review question?

the question is "Other Additions Statement: Code 20-Amount (TP) and Code 20-Amount (SP) should be blank because no credit is being claimed for Pass Through Entity Elective Tax Payment Credit on Schedule CR, Section 3, Part 6."

i already left it blank and its still not working
i tried looking what it means but i cant find anything

i live in Virginia

it was part of a review question

The Pass Through Entity Elective Tax Payment Credit is when a pass through entity (partnership or S-Corporation) elects to pay the state tax for a partner/shareholder, and deduct it as business expense at the entity level.  It is an IRS approved way for partners and S-Corp owners to get around the $10,000 state and local tax deduction cap on Schedule A on personal tax return.  If the program will not let you move past this, I suggest you delete your Virginia state tax return and start it again.  To do so:

  1. Sign in and open a section of your return.
  2. From the menu, select State and then select Continue on the Let's get your state taxes done right screen.
  3. On the Status of your state returns screen, select Delete next to your state, then answer Yes.

I am experiencing the same issue with this and think it's very inconvenient to have to start the tax return all over again.  It's a complete waste of time and effort particularly when we have to pay to e-file.  Fix this Intuit.
