Why was my tax refund reduced from $4108 on line 34 to $2884 on summary sheet?

I can't see any reason for the reduction.  Does unemployment and exclusion create the problem?  All lines appear to be correct and nothing is below the refund line.

What summary sheet?  Do you owe state?  It maybe the Net of federal and state.

Summary sheet is the Electronic Filing Instructions sheet

What tax year are you asking about?    Are you asking about a 2020 return?    You cannot e-file a 2020 return now.   E-filing is closed for 2020.   What software did you use?

It was year 2020.  I was going to do an amended return but can't see why the refund was decreased.

So the Electronic Filing Instructions the top part  for Balance Due/Refund only shows 2884?  And you don't have an amount on line 35a  or line 36?  Double check your 1040.  You have to have the refund amount on line 35a.   Line 36 is listed over to the left.

Form 1040 line 34 is not your refund. Line 35a is your refund.

Did you choose the option to use part of your refund to purchase U.S. Savings Bonds?

Did you choose the option to apply part of your refund to your 2021 tax? It would be on line 36.

Is there a penalty on line 38?

line 35a shows the larger amount as the amount to refund  so it's very strange
