Why is my federal retirement being taxed for lLouisiana state return?

If you entered your information correctly, your federal retirement won't be taxable on your Louisiana return.

Your Louisiana return starts with your federal adjusted gross income (AGI) -- which includes the federally taxable portion of your federal retirement.

Your federal retirement is then deducted, as exempt, on your Schedule E, 2022 Adjustments to Income, with Code 04E, meaning it won't be taxable based on your Louisiana AGI.  The state AGI will be shown on line 5 of Schedule E.
