Why does the "Tax Summary" window appear to be greyed out in TurboTax2024 (at least as of the last release at end of Dec. 2024)?

Are you referring to the Tax Summary window using the desktop editions?

I am using the TurboTax Premier edition for Windows with the latest updates.  When I click on Tools at the top of the desktop program screen and then click on Tax Summary, the Tax Summary window is not greyed out.

I have the same problem.  Did you ever get a response to this question?

I'm having the same problem with MacOS versions of TurboTax2024 as of updated version on Jan 29, 2025.

Did you get any help from the community or Intuit?

Common denominator seems to be the Mac version.  Has there been response from Intuit?

No fix but there is a workaround

Go to the Forms menu then scroll to the bottom and select Tax Summary from there

True that - but as I work the 2024 taxes I do like to quickly look at federal and state tax summaries which the normal view generates. At this time, the state is not greyed out, but the federal is. Not a showstopper, but it is annoying bug that I wish they would fix.

Yes, under Forms at the bottom you can select Tax Summary and see a summary, but it is still grayed out in in the Windows menu.  Strange, annoying glitch.

I guess Intuit does not monitor these Community discussions as there has been no response to the thread of comments.

I have the same problem.  The FED Tax Summary becomes greyed out ONLY after I add the CA State to the return.  Once CA State is added, the FED Tax Summary is greyed out but the CA State Tax Summary is OK.  If I then remove the CA State from the return, the FED Tax Summary is now OK (not greyed out). This is repeatable. It seems, at least for my TurboTax Premier 2024, that adding the CA State does something to the Federal product to cause the display problem on the Tax Summary.

I have reported the issue and it is under investigation as of 1-29-25.

I am able to see the Tax Summary from the top Tools menu in TurboTax Desktop Deluxe for Windows.

When using TurboTax Desktop for Mac, I see the Federal Tax Summary grayed out but the State visible using the top Tools menu. When in Forms mode, the correct Federal Tax Summary is accessible from the left side Forms list.

I also experienced the greyed-out tax summary on MacOS when working on a return that included Ohio.
However it worked fine for a different return that included Kentucky.

I have the same problem after downloading the VA state program on the Mac Turbotax 2024.

Same here.  Adding Virginia causes same issue.
