Why can't I enter anything in the Social Security Retirement Benefits field. It asks did I receive, then takes me right back to the main income screen.

I am not sure why.  Let's try this way:

In TurboTax online,

  • Sign in to your account and select Pick up where you left off
  • From the upper right menu, select Search and type in "social security benefits" and Enter
  • Select the Jump to link
  • Follow prompts

While this may not work for you....one person switched to a different browser, and that fixed some of the navigation issues they were having .

This does not work.  I've asked the question a couple of times and keep getting the same answer.  Which does not work.

I hope you aren't using the Guided interview......get out of that and make sure you use the "Show All Income Items"  (or something like that, I'm not sure what the text is this year to click on, since I get out of the guided interview as soon as I started working Online weeks ago))

Once you get out of the annoying Guided Interview, you can simply scroll down on the Wages&Income menu page to find the SS entry Start section.  That would be somewhere in the Personal section in the SE software version.
