Why are my estimated payments for 2018 being counted as income on turbotax? They are also counted under deductions which makes more sense to me.

Yes, your Estimated Tax Payments  should show under Deductions & Credits, as 'Estimated Tax Payments'.

Type 'estimated tax payments' in the Search window, then 'Jump to estimated tax payments' to check your entries.

Click this link for detailed info on  How to Enter Estimated Tax Payments .
