Which state(s) can claim inherited IRA income in a year when I move from one state to another?

I made a single distribution in a tax year that I also moved between states. Does the state I lived in when I initiated the transfer get to count all of the taxable income from that distribution?

Yes, the distribution is income in the state in which you resided at the time of the distribution.
