Please follow the steps below to add SSA-1099:

  1. Click on Tax Home from Left Side Menu
  2. Click on Wages & Income from the main screen
  3. Scroll Down till you see the section titled "Retirement Plans and Social Security". Within this section, there will be an option for "Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)". Click on Start/Revisit next to it.
  4. You will then be able to enter the information accordingly.

You should get to a screen like this.

Got there. I put in my wife's numbers, and now they show. For me, it shows my name and $0 -- and I can't change it. I need to add my own SSA info. How?

Are you using the Desktop program?  Some people are having trouble entering into box 5.  This if this helps.

Are you running the TurboTax application as an Administrator?  If not -

Save the tax return.

Close the TurboTax program

Right click on the TurboTax icon on your computer screen

Click on Run as Administrator

Start the TurboTax program and see if the problem persists

@deke2

Desktop program???

...IF So...

Double-click on the  $0.....there may be a "Supporting Details" worksheet that transferred in from you using it in your last year's SSA-1099 form entries.    IF you don't need the SD worksheet, once it comes up, you can delete it and gain access to the normal entry field without the double-click.

Did that. Same thing happened. But then... I accidentally double-clicked the box. And it opened up a small windows that let me fix it. Then the same thing happened with the Part B premium box. Double-clicking fixed that.

Really weird. But thanks for replying.

@deke2   That form transfers in from your use of the SD sheet last year (o some prior year)....you can get rid of them entirely by bringing them up again and hitting the Red

X Remove

on each one....   then you won't have to deal with them again next year....unless you want to use the SD sheet for some reason

Similar issue may occur in other areas where you see a "$0"  ...but yeah, maybe double-click in the actual box instead of directly on the $0....(might depend on whether it's in a rewritten software section or not).
