What Social Security "stub" do you mean?  You need your SSA1099 from Social Security.  They mail them in January.  If you did not receive your SSA1099 you need to go on the SS site to get it.

Go to www.ssa.gov  You have to create an account with a user name and password.

There is no payer ID for a SSA1099----you are trying to enter it in the wrong place.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

There is not a social security payer ID on a 1099-SSA.  It is the federal government.  If you are being asked for a Payer ID while entering your social security, you are likely entering it in the wrong section.  You will need to delete the form you just entered and then enter your social security select the following:

  • Federal
  • Income
  • Retirement
  • SSA-1099 Social Security
  • Then walk through and enter your SS income.
