Turbo tax says they're working on updates related to retirement destructions that qualify for disaster or covid relief. Is this related to my federal input of having an IRA withdraw due to covid?
Yes, this is related to federal input, which would include having a withdrawal due to COVID-19. The updates related to the retirement distributions for COVID-19 were released February 26, 2021.
However, the state implementation may still lag behind Form 8915-E. Please refresh the program and try again now to update the status. If your return is otherwise complete, then once the state forms are updated, you would be good to go.
To be sure the program is updated, try closing the program and the browser completely. Re-open using an incognito Chrome browser to make sure the program is fully updating.

@jliu251I'm having the same issue. I have updated everything under the sun and no luck with getting past that question. Seems we're being held hostage with this software.
I have the same issue. I was told to try again on Monday.
rather sucky option if you ask me.
Thank you for that. I tried refreshing using the methods outlined and I’m still getting the message. I will try again on Monday.
Thank You for the update. Still unable to file. Will try again on Monday.
@jliu251 I have been trying this for the last 5 days!! Still not letting me file my taxes do to this. TT PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!!!

(NY my 2nd state, non-resident state )
@AJ0688 as of 3/5 at 615am, it is still not working... still asking me to correct the NYS Pension/Annuities/IRA Worksheet.....
We all need to start calling them. This year's program is riddled with bugs. IT keeps inserting forms from previous years. I delete them, then they pop back on later.
yes it's ok to wait, but how you know how long to wait and that this problem will be fixed ?
TTax keep silence
TT has me by the short hairs. It would be a tremendous effort to start over with another application.
I'm in the same boat. Does anyone have a TurboTax support person's handle they could reference on this post to get them looking at it and responding? @Anonymous is the only one I know. There must be others. We need solid answers on this!
The response I just got from Denetria, a product support specialist for TT:
"As of now, there is no exact date that this form will be updated. The estimated date is Mid-March."
I followed up with the question: Can TurboTax guarantee that a fix will be in place prior to the filing deadline for state returns? Response:
"That is the latest date. And yes of course the form will be fixed before the filing deadline. The state forms 8915-E are a bit behind. You can check back later on today, updates to the site typically take place in the afternoons."
Support said it would be working on March 5th. Well, it's March 5th and still not working! Let me file my taxes TT!!!
I'm doing exactly that. I'm going to file my Federal and just keep checking back on the state. Who knows when or if the Feds will pass the 3rd round of Covid checks. I really don't want them to go by last year so I'm going to file Federal now.
You always can call them and make them to create an investigation # for you- it will read/start with the letters ''inv...: .
NYS Pension/Annuities/IRA worksheet missing - holding up e-filing
My taxes are completed, but I am not allowed to e-file in NYS because I keep getting an error message that says:
"Pension/Annuities/IRA worksheet: Txble Pens/IRA(Reg Dist) We're still working on updates related to Retirement Distributions that qualify for disaster or covid relief. You can keep working on your return and we'll remove this message when it's ready."
