What to do with fed taxes smart check err for elective deferrals from 401k over contributed AFTER entered 1099-R from "Steps to Take to Remove an Excess Salary Deferral"

My situation is as follow,

1. 2018 401(k) - Over-contributed by $200

2. Requested and received the 1099-R form for the $200 over contribution

3. Entered the 1099-R form info in "Retirement Plans and Social Security" section "IRA, 401 (k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)"

4. I still get the error about elective deferrals to qualified plans in 1040 form - 12b in the federal taxes Smart Check.

What should I do with this error?

It was just announced that an update is currently planned for April 12th, 2019 to resolve this e-filing issue.

You may still see a warning about the excess contribution, but you should be able to e-file.  You can check out this TurboTax FAQ for more information: Excess 401(k) Contribution Preventing E-filing
