What should I do if a tax from a particular state is removed from the updated W2C

I received a W2 which had had tax deductions from New Jersey and New York State both. Although, I was not supposed to have any tax deductions with respect to New York as I had been working in New Jersey, So I asked my employer to update the W2C. The W2C states that I have no tax liability to New York state anymore as the corrected section in regard to new York is now zero and that amount has merged to the NEW Jersey section. Should I still file tax returns for New York state?

No, if you were not a New York resident, didn't work in New York or New York sourced income that is taxable by New York, and didn't have New York tax withheld, there is no reason to file a New York tax return.
