What do I put for "plan cost" for my pension from OPM?

I'm retired in 2023 from federal civil service.  box 9b is blank on my CSA 1099R.  Turbo tax is asking for plan cost.  I put into the pension for over 30 years.  What do i put for plan cost?  From what point?  I contributed Jan thru July and retired August 1, 2023.  Should I just add up what I put into the pension in Jan thru July 2023?  There were no contributions after August 1, 2023.  So do I put zero?  So little instruction for this simple question in Turbo Tax.

No, you do not just include the plan cost from January - July of 2023.  You must get in touch with your plan administrator to see if you had any 'after tax' contributions to the plan.  If all of your contributions were pre-tax, then all of your CSA-1099R would be taxable.

If you have an online personal site at OPM, you may be able to find the information there.
