We rolled over my 403b to a rollover IRA. Didn't take anything out, and now I have a 1099-r that is showing up an income. Is that right?

Do I put this on my current Tax return?

Yes, you do report Form 1099-R for your rollover on your tax return.  The amount of the rollover should not be included in your taxable income.  It will show up as "income" but not taxable income.  You can review your return to see if it is included in taxable income.  To review your Form 1040, while logged in and in your return:

  • On the far left of your screen, click on Tax Tools
  • From the Drop Down menu, click on Tools
  • Click on View Tax Summary on the pop up window
  • On the far left, click on View my 1040

If it is included in your taxable income, return to your 1099-R entry.  Review your entries to make sure they are correct.  Also review your answers to the questions that appear after you enter the form.  Make sure you answer the question about rolling over your 403(b) to indicate that you rolled over 100% of it.  This question, and some others appear after the review screen.
