We are not self employed. We have only retirement, social security, and pension income. Please change the status from self employed to regular?

We do not have the ability to anything on your return. You can clear and start over.

In TurboTax Online, you can erase your return and start from scratch as long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered

  1. If you haven't already done so, sign in at TurboTax.com
  2. On the welcome back screen, in the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, and then select Clear & Start Over (click or tap the 3 lines in the upper-left corner if you don't see this menu).
  3. Answer Yes in the pop-up to confirm.
  4. After your entries have been cleared out, we'll prompt you to select a TurboTax product so you can start over from the very beginning.

When I clear and try to start over by going to tax tools, I am still directed to self-employed, my status last year. I see no option to discontinue self emplyed status after I clear return and start over. I am always automatically given last's year's status. How do I change this?

@clarkjf3  You need to delete the information that is carrying over from last year in order to make sure that you are not registering as self-employed.  You should go first to "Income and Expenses" and then scroll down to "Self-Employed" and click on the start or revisit button.  Your business from last year should show up on the next screen.  Click the little trash can to the right and BOOM! you're done.
