Volunteer firefighter deduction - state return but I am not able to figure out how to add it to my return this year (I have in the past and yes, I am still eligible)

I know it goes on my SC return on Line J. But how to get the information there, I am not successful.

According to the instructions for the SC 1040, the deduction up to $3000 should be reported on SC 1040 line j, under subtractions from Federal income.  In order to get the information reported on the SC form in the right spot, you will enter it as follows:

• Going through the SC return, look for a screen titled Here's the income that South Carolina handles differently
• Scroll to Public Service
• Click Start or Update beside Volunteer Income to enter a description and the amount of your deduction (enter it as a positive number)
