@Anonymous
what are you trying to do ?
I ask because the form 2555 is ONLY used for exclusion of Foreign Earned income. So tes, your wife must have Foreign Earned income.
Tell me more about the situation/scenario and me I can help you solve the issue that you are facing with TurboTax.
I filed the exact information last year with no problem. A change has been made to this form and it is incorrect!
I am married filing jointly. I am the only income earner. I select the option that I am only claiming on my earnings. Everything is fine until the end when it shows my spouse in a form 2555 and I cannot continue until I put in dates for her and an exemption amount, but I am not claiming for her.
Additionally, the travel dates for the physical presence test requires a non zero entry for "days on business", but I traveled just not on business.
It depends. If working in Turbo Tax Online, you can delete a 2555 form. Here is how to do this.
If you are working in the Turbo software, go to the forms mode in your return, find form 2555-S and then delete it. If you traveled strictly for pleasure and if Turbo Tax is requiring an entry, record "1" in this space to move on in your return.
