Turbotax has scrambled my 1099-R data. Amounts are correct but attributed to wrong Financial Institution and wrong Name. What do I do?

Do I need to delete everything and start over?

Did you import the 1099-R?    Delete the 1099-R and re-enter manually.

Same thing happened to me, except with my 1099-INTs. Caught it those morning, and, once I figured out what was going on, had to redo over a half-dozen entrees, manually, in a field of around 28. Took me close to an hour . . .

First time in years of working with TurboTax that I've seen such a random mess. Their reliability score is now at the floor!

Same issue today with 2021 premier.  Is there any progress in this issue?

Please understand that there are multiple players in the import process.

First, the company or financial institution has to create data packets in a way that is consistent with TurboTax's requirements. The company or financial institution almost certainly does not send a PDF of the forms in question, but rather a data packet or an XML file. If the packet is not constructed correctly, then the results will not be correct.

Second, sending information over the Internet is not 100% reliable. Think about the number of times that your video starts to pixelate on a download. Third, TurboTax has to handle the data reliably.

So, yes, please report such issues because we do want to know, but because there can be other causes, most users should just go ahead and do the workaround that macuser_22 referred to: delete whatever got into TurboTax and then re-enter the form by hand.
