Turbotax asking for W-2 and I'm retired

I'm retired and have no wages just retirement income from SS and a pension plan. When I try to e-file Turbotax asks for more information on the W-2 form. I don't have any W-2's, I used 1099R form, not W-2. How do I get past the W-2 nag? I don't have an employer

You can delete the unwanted W-2 by following the steps below:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Search for W-2 (upper- or lower-case, with or without the dash) using the search or help feature in the upper right corner and then click the "Jump to" link in the search results.
  3. This brings you to the Review your W-2 info screen. Click delete next to the unwanted W-2 and then answer Yes on the following screen.

Or, to delete a W-2 you can also do the following:

  • Open your return in TurboTax Desktop
  • Click to Continue your return
  • Click on Personal Income in TurboTax and then I'll choose what I work on
  • At the top of the page, under Your 2017 Income Summary, you will see W-2's listed
  • Click the Update button which will take you to the W2 screen. Click the delete button, next to the W-2  and confirm the deletion by clicking Yes

The general procedure to delete forms in TurboTax Desktop is here - How to delete forms in TurboTax Desktop

If the above steps don't work, please let me know in the comment section so that I can assist you further.

I just faked it to get past it during e-file.

Entered my zip code and state and got by it.

It was an irritation I could do without.
