TT reduced my income due to an IRA direct contribution to Church, how/where is this added back for Wisconsin taxes so I can take a charitable deduction?

According to the Wisconsin DOR website, starting in 2018, QCD distributions are not taxable in Wisconsin. Since turbo Tax does not address this in the Wisconsin State return, here is how to report it:

  1. Working in your State return, you should reach a page that says Here's the income that Wisconsin handles differently
  2. Go to Misc>Wi taxable income>start
  3. Put in the amount of the QCD.

Be sure to meet the minimum federal requirements for claiming a QCD.  Here is an IRS link that addresses this.

Yes, this answers my question and explained why I had questioned my Wisconsin income forwarded to my state return.   Thank you.  I just wonder why I couldn’t find this information when searching for it.   Maybe it was me.?   But would have kept me from having to file an amended state return.

also, when doing my state amended return, I couldn’t find a way to NOT have to fill out an amended Federal return, which wasn’t needed.  I had to ‘fake' it by using zeros for federal changes.  Wouldn’t it be easy to allow just a state amended return?  Just wondering.

Tks for listening.
