The boxes on my 1099-G don't match with what TurboTax thinks should be in the boxes

My 1099-G, from Maryland, has only four boxes. 1) Unemployment compensation paid, 2) repayment amount, 3) Federal tax withheld, and 4) State tax withheld.

TurboTax wants me to give them the following information:
From box 1, unemployment compensation and paid family leave.
From box 4, federal income tax withheld.

My box 4 is state income tax, not federal. Also, TurboTax thinks that state income tax is listed in box 11, which I don't even have on my 1099-G. I obviously need to make it clear that I've already paid my state taxes, but I'm worried about entering the information in the wrong location. Does it matter if the box numbers don't match up, as long as the amounts are correct?

From TurboTax expert PaulaM

Some states use their own 1099-G form instead of the IRS standard 1099-G form.

If your federal/boxes don't match up, just enter where they are asked for. Enter your federal tax withheld in the box 4 field box in TurboTax (you have to check the box under your state). Then continue to enter the state taxes in the box 11 TurboTax field box.

I have the same issue, but the State ID simply doesn’t show up anywhere on the form even though the State Taxes were withheld.  This is for Maryland

If the form has no state ID #  then simply enter the federal ID # if you have state withholding on the form.

I'm just not sure that's the correct number - as it asks for the state filers identification number - and the only one offered is the employers id number

The employer's ID  is the federal one ... if you have state withholding then ask the employer is they have a separate state ID number ... if they don't then use the federal one to make the program happy.
