If this is a preliminary screen that you are seeing as you go through your return, then it may or may not be correct.  The important thing to know is what your actual Form 1040 shows as your income and whether the Social Security has been included if it is taxable.

You can either preview your Form 1040 if you are using TurboTax Online, or use Forms mode to see your Form 1040 if you are using a desktop version of TurboTax (click Forms at the top of the screen and highlight Form 1040).

To preview your Form 1040 using TurboTax Online:

  1. From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.)
  2. Select Tax Tools
  3. On the drop-down select Tools
  4. On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary
  5. On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040

Take a look at line 6a and 6b to see if the Social Security income was reported on 6a.  Line 6b shows any taxable amount.

After seeing your actual forms, let us know if you still have questions or concerns.
