RMD Withdrawl

Have 5 IRA ‘s . Withdrew from 3 . Rolled over 1 . (Did not withdraw RMD)  .  Did not withdraw RMD from # 5 . 3 IRA’s withdrawl more than covered my RMD . Did not get 1099R from IRA 4 and 5. How do I handle. First RMD year. Turned 73 in 2024.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “1099-R”
  2. Click on “Jump to 1099-R” and enter your first 1099-R
  3. Enter the RMD amount for this account on the "Let's get more information about your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)" screen
  4. Continue until "How much of this distribution applied to your December 31, 2024 RMD?" screen and select "The entire distribution was an RMD"  /or select "Only part of this distribution was a RMD" and enter the amount of RMD (if this distribution includes RMD for other IRA accounts then you included the amount here)
  5. On the "Here's your 1099-R info" screen add the next Form 1099-R and repeat RMD steps
  6. Repeat until all Form 1099-Rs are entered then click "Continue" on the "Here's your 1099-R info" screen
  7. On the "Did You Miss a Required Distribution From Any Retirement Accounts?" screen select "An IRA..."
  8. On the "Total RMD for all other IRAs" screen enter the RMD from your other IRAs (IRA 4 and 5, where you didn't take a distribution from).

Sorry that solution does not work .First step clicking on search brings up a screen to talk to a bot . Totally useless. I tried clicking  on forms . That was a bit more informative but did not solve my issue, or question. Extremely vexing.

In TurboTax Desktop try to get to the Form 1099-R entry with these steps:

  1. Click "Federal Taxes" on the top and select "Wages & Income"
  2. Click "I'll choose what to work on"
  3. Scroll down and click "Start" next to "IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan (1099-R)
  4. Enter your first 1099-R
  5. Enter the RMD amount for this account on the "Let's get more information about your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)" screen
  6. Continue until "How much of this distribution applied to your December 31, 2024 RMD?" screen and select "The entire distribution was an RMD"  /or select "Only part of this distribution was a RMD" and enter the amount of RMD (if this distribution includes RMD for other IRA accounts then you included the amount here).
  7. On the "Your 1099-R Entries" screen add the next Form 1099-R and repeat RMD steps
  8. Repeat until all Form 1099-Rs are entered then click "Continue" on the "Your 1099-R Entries" screen
  9. On the "Did You Miss a Required Distribution From Any Retirement Accounts?" screen select "An IRA..."
  10. On the "Total RMD for all other IRAs" screen enter the RMD from your other IRAs (IRA 4 and 5, where you didn't take a distribution from).

To clarify, did you get a 1099-R for the rollover? Or was it a trustee-to-trustee and you did not receive a 1099-R?
