Pension deduction worksheet/early w/draw due to Covid-19. Retirement distribution. Federal Amount. When will this be fixed?

Why do I keep getting an error for my Michigan return? It states, "Pension Deduction Worksheet: Federal Amount we're still working on updates related to retirement distributions that qualify for disaster or covid relief. You can keep working on your return and we'll remove this message when it's ready." I can not go any further. I already had to wait until 2/25/2021 for the 8915E form and now I am being stopped by this. I don't want to have to mail in my return because it is quicker to e-file. Is there anyway around this error. Very Frustrating.

You CAN file your federal return. If that helps anybody out.....I was stuck in the seemingly never ending loop as well, but, if you go back to the very first page where it asks you to e-file, instead click on file by mail or paper (not eFile). Then, drop down boxes for Federal and State show up. Select e-file for Federal, and not ready to file for State.

I'm in the same boat. Waiting on my refund, and would rather just file together so I don't have to do a separate filing with State. Intuit, please let us know when this will be fixed. Earliest I can schedule a "Talk with an Expert" is March 10. that's a bit ridiculous.

I managed to get through to someone on chat. They said ETA is March 4 for this to be updated. I guess will just have to check back next week... sigh. I could really use that money sooner than later.

Today March 4th, I tried to e-file again and the same error.

Same thing happened to me as well in WI.  Turbo Tax updated this morning but the same error message is there stating..."Continue to work on the rest of your return..."  I'm finished but can't e-file until this ONE error is corrected.

Anyone have an update on this error?

You need to delete the 1099-R that was previously entered, and re-enter Form 1099-R.

I've already filed my federal taxes,  Can I delete the 1099-R on the federal entry screen to fix my state tax?

...also have come to this dead halt in my filing with this issue.

We'll have to reach out to someone??

Same issue -  Michigan return and covid distributions on 1099-R.  Stuck on Needs Review FIX button keeps cycling and won't allow moving forward to finish return.  Client WANTS refund and has been patiently waiting since February 20. The 8915-E fix happened by Feb 25, but not for the states.

Just tried deleting the 1099-R and re-entering it. Also tried setting taxability for the current year rather than over 3-years. Neither approach works. ANYONE have any clue when this will get beyond the message (see below)?

I'm having the same issue.... TurboTax didn't have a problem pulling the fees out of my bank... and then telling me I couldn't file until it was fixed though..........

I just tried again this morning too, and still same state (Michigan) error. I don't know if it's a state issue or TurboTax issue though. Can't hurt for everyone to report the error though so hopefully we can get this resolved soon.  Tax filing is due in a little over a month, yet it's not fixed yet. That's really unacceptable.

I am having the same issue and I was just told today,in the chat,  that the projected fix date is 3/25!

3/25? Man, that sucks. I really needed this money before the end of the month. I guess I at least hope the stimulus checks come through to tide me over.

This is ridiculous! They keep pushing the date back while we are all dead in the water... what really makes me mad is that this error doesn't show up until after you have paid and try to file... that's unacceptable.

Right ?!? I've been using TurboTax for years....After this I'm done..... not only did they take my money then tell me I couldn't file yet.... they changed the cost from $80 to $110 while I waited for them to update !!!!!!

Before giving “expert” advice, you should really make sure that the advice given is accurate, because your “solution” does not work. It’d be great if it DID work, because I guarantee that for 99.9% of the people complaining about this not being fixed, DON’T EVEN NEED THIS FORM OR WORKSHEET!  Seriously, this is ridiculous! It has to be one of the EASIEST TAX FORMS TO FILL OUT and it’s taking your team WEEKS?!?! Unacceptable. Will never use TurboTax again after this year.
