Pennsylvania state income tax refund

I filed my 2022 federal & Pennsylvania state income taxes on 23 March 2023.  Got my federal income tax refund just fine.  But still waiting on my $370 I am to receive back from the state of Pennsylvania.  When I go to the Pennsylvania income tax web site & type in my info, I get the reply that they got my 2022 PA state income tax file & it will take 12 - 16 weeks to process.  Well, it is now 16 weeks, but no refund yet.  How much longer should I wait before scheduling a call with them?

Your PA refund may be delayed because of errors or suspected identify theft fraud. Call the customer service line at 1-717-787-8201 (between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern time).

Hello @JoeBoquet ,

I would recommend calling their offices to speak to a live person about the status of your refund since it is delayed. Call them at opening to reduce your wait time as they may get busier during the day. Here is their contact information.

Hello @JoeBoquet

I am sorry to hear you haven't received your refund yet.  I know it can be frustrating.

If it has been passed the time limit they gave on their website, I would take the steps to contacting them.  The agent should be able to advise you the status of your return.

Thank you for participating today!

I know this post is several months old but I found it because I just submitted my 2023 taxes earlier this week and I have the same 12 - 16 week message for this year.  Was this ever resolved for you?

The best way to resolve this kind of thing is to contact the state in question.

Contact the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
