Opened up a traditional ira with an annuity rollover in february 2016

You should be getting a 1099R if you did a roll over in 2016.  This 1099R will need to be entered into TurboTax..

To enter pension and annuity Payments (1099-R)

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  • On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button

If it is a rollover, it may not be taxed but still must be entered on your taxes.
