On the tax return, I entered 270,906 in pension and investment income, but it is showing up on the review as 359,513 in taxable income? What gives?

Why is the total taxable income listed in the review of my form nearly 50% more than the taxable income I entered?

Review the Form 1099-R Summary within the tax return to determine what taxable amount is being reported on the IRS 1040 tax return.

Review the entries on the IRS 1040 tax return (line 15) to see how the taxable income total was computed.

You can print or view your full tax returns prior to filing after you have paid for the software.

  • View the entries down the left side of the screen at Tax Tools.
  • Select Print Center.
  • Select Print, save or preview this year's return.
  • Select Include government and TurboTax worksheets.
