Did you enter the W-2 and the Form 1099-R in the correct section of the TurboTax program under Wages & Income?

The income from the W-2 will be reported on the federal tax return Form 1040 Line 1a

The income from the Form 1099-R for a pension will be reported on the federal tax return Form 1040 Line 5a with the taxable amount entered on Line 5b.

I got two forms for my 2022 pension...same as last year...W2 for non-qualified part of my pension and 1099-R for qualified pension plan. Both are entered correctly...1099-R income shows up ok  but line 1a of 1040 shows $0.00 for  W2 income. It was all fine last year. I think there is a TTAX problem.

Is there an amount in box 11 of the W-2?

If so, is this amount equal to or greater than Line 1 and is it the amount taken out of the plan or the amount that was contributed to the plan?

Never mind, I found it. Last  year it was on 1040 Line 1, now it appears on Schedule 1 line 8t. Thanks for the quick response.

Yes, that's a forms change that the IRS made for 2022.  It's mentioned in the What's New section of the  instructions for 2022 Form 1040.  That's a reasonable change since in many cases nonqualified pension income is treated differently than regular wages.
