We have the desktop tax turbo. Completed the federal tax portion.
Problem with the NJ state form. A page comes up that stating there is a rollover for my husband--he did NOT have a rollover. I also have the same info come up--I did have a rollover. Is it a glitch?
TurboTax asks if it is a rollover for all retirement accounts- did your husband have a 1099-R?
Yes he had a 1099 R which showed his RMD.
AND the page states a rollover amount which is my rollover amount. The same amount is then shown when that page shows up when completing the NJ form
The page states
"Simple Rollover to Simple IRA for R***
Total rollover R***made $7***
Enter portion of rollover that was made to a simple ira and was previously not taxed by NJ "
THEn a box that needs to be filled in
Problem is the number shown is what I rollover---not the amount of his RMD So why is my rollover amount on showing for him And what gets entered in that box????
Then I get the same page with the same info about my rollover
you entered the rollover 1099-R twice, once for him and once for yourself.
No I checked that. When I go to the his Federal IRA form, it does NOT show a rollover , only his RMD.
The problem is a page on the NJ state step by step on the desktop.
You may have better luck if you delete the NJ tax return, and start again from scratch.
