My wife receives SS disability and we report her income on federal taxes from SSA 1099. Is this the same thing as Permanent Disability retirement income? We live in SC.

No. Usually your Social Security Disability income convert to retirement income after you reach social security retirement age but not until.

If you do collect SSDI disability benefits, they will be converted to retirement benefits when you reach full retirement age.
