My wife has 1099-R from ex spouce retirement distribution. Is that filed under retirement income? She's not retired. Does it matter?

My wife has 1099-R from ex spouce retirement distribution. Is that filed under retirement income? She's not retired. It is her income, but since she is not taking distribution from her 401K or IRA,  Is it treated like regular income, but only is a 1099-R... ?

No, it doesn't matter that she is not retired.  Since the income is disbursed from a retirement account that is why your are receiving the 1099-R and 1099-R's has to be entered in the "Retirement Plans and Social Security" section of TurboTax.  It is treated as "regular" income however your tax situation and the code is listed in Box 7 will determine how the income is taxed.
