My taxable income filing jointly is 104,618 and turbo tax calculated 33,325 for my tax in 2021, what's wrong?

last year my taxable income was 93302 and the tax was 12,398, so this year tax is way too high.

Check your own data entries.   Look for decimal mistakes or extra zeros in the income amounts you entered.

Did you have any self-employment income?  That is subject to additional tax.  Also, any increases in income can lower or eliminate some deductions/credits.  Look at 2020 and 2021 side-by-side.  Something may stand out.

Thank you, but I think this is a program error. My taxable income is 101,601 after careful review, so the tax should be 13,839, but turbotax shows 32,661. To pay 32,661, my taxable income has to be 185,912, and that's way over my 101,601. How can I report turbotax error? Thanks.

You may have additional taxes in addition to your income tax. You can see that on schedule 2 of your form 1040.

You can view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3 while working in the online version of TurboTax by following these steps:

While working on your return in the Federal section of TurboTax:

   1.  Choose the Tax Tools icon on your left menu bar

   2.  Tools

   3.  View Tax Summary

   4.  Choose the Preview my 1040 on your left menu bar
