My son is 18 and will file taxes for the first time he has an UTMA acct that we started for him and received a 1099, will he need to include this when he files his W-2's?

We have never filed those 1099's before because he has never had a job until now.

Yes, if the UTMA account has his social security number on it, then he must include that income if he is otherwise filing.
