Form SSA-4926 SM Statement (Notice of new monthly Medicare Premium) also known as "Your New Benefits Amount" Statement.

This is an informational statement that a Medicare beneficiary will receive when the Medicare monthly premium changes.  It is not entered on your federal tax return.

To enter your Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  • On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button

None of us on this public forum is the SS administration ... to know how much you are getting in your 2020 SS check may I suggest you look at your bank account ?   You should have at least 3 deposits for 2020 by now.

@Gregoriaquirarte

TurboTax cannot provide you with statements that come from Social Security.  You can create an account on the Social Security site, or you can contact them to request the form you want.

Why do you need that form telling you what benefit amount you will get in 2020?  You should have gotten 11 payments already so you don't need that informational form any longer.  What you do need to file your 2020 return is a SSA-1099 which you will get in the mail in January 2021.

Next month, a SSA-4956 will be mailed to you to tell you what the 2021 monthly benefits will be paid... but again this is informational only and is not entered anywhere on an income tax return but could be used to estimate the 2021 income and taxes due.

Hello 👋

Why does form SSA-4926-SM-DI (1-2020) monthly amount before deductions multiplied by 12 months not equal the amount on form SSA-1099-SM (1-2020) for benefits for the same year? Thank you in advance for answers.

Notice of new monthly Medicare Premium also known as “Your New Benefits. Amount” Statement, Form SSA-4926-SM   is  NOT used to complete an income tax return.  What you need it the 1099-SSA which shows what you actually got during the tax year.

@edgriffith Social Security sends out SSA1099's in the mail in January.

There is a way to go on the Social Security website and request one.  Go to www.ssa.gov  You have to create an account with a user name and password.

 Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.
