My husband does not have a social security number. What do I do?

My husband does not have SSN. I chose to file separately, but I am stuck at Deductions&Credits. It asks me to fill his SSN. What do I do?

Put in a fake number, then you will need to print your return and white out the number and then mail your return with a note attached explaining why he does not have a SSN.  If he is a Non-Resident Alien, then you would just write NRA in the space for his name and social security number.
