My employer is making a 2022 401k contribution directly to the financial service company, bot through payroll. How do I show this on my tax return?

My employer is making a 2022 401k contribution directly to the financial service company, not through payroll.  How do I show this on my tax return?  Do I reduce taxable income accordingly?

Is this an employer contribution or a personal contribution? If it is an employer contribution, there is nothing to report or a need to reduce taxable income.

Employer contributions are not reported on a W2, only personal contributions.

Pre-tax contributions to your 401(k) must be made through payroll deduction. Matching 401(k) contributions are the additional contributions made by employers, on top of the contributions made by you.

As Catina mentioned, If it is an employer contribution, there is nothing to report.

Your contribution are reported on your W-2 box 12 code D : Contributions to your 401(k) plan (including a simple 401(k) plan).
