My 1099R is from my pension payments not IRA, etc. so a number of boxes aren't checked. Can I bypass the requested information?

The form is asking for information for several boxes that are blank.  How do I handle this?

What is it asking for?  What code is in box 7?  Is it asking if you took the RMD?

Say all of it is the RMD. If you are 72 it will ask you if it is the RMD. Say yes. The pension doesn't need to calculate any RMD. Anything your pension pays you is considered to be the RMD. Traditional pensions automatically fulfill the rules of an RMD.

if the IRA box is not checked on your 1099-R, you will not get IRA questions.

The question states: "My 1099R is from my pension payments NOT IRA". The box 7 shows code 7, but check box is not checked. Why the system asks if I have qualified plan? And how should I reply? When I replied "Qualified", the program asks if it is RMD. Again, my income is not an IRA, but the government retirement bonus system. Should I enter this form in different section?

Thanks

Thank you for reply, but I still don't understand something. Doesn't RMD mean distribution from IRAs? If "yes", this my form doesn't represent IRAs. If "no", why should I say it is RMD?

Thanks

No, it could mean distributions from pension plans also.
