My 1099-R needs reviewed but not sure why I took a covid relief distribution and I paided my taxes on it at the time I requested it to be withheld so why need reviewed?

Is it a different form I  need to use for disastrous relief or something else

Some forms were not yet released by the IRS and therefore, were not available for filing yet.

Cares Act tax relief related to Retirement Plans

Form 8915-E has now been released.  Please see the link below for more information.

I realize that the form wasn’t available till jus a few days ago maybe but I tried to do it today n it all went through and my 1099 r was filled in correctly I withheld 20 % like I was recommended to do for my tax bracket  but turbo keeps saying it need reviewed  does filling it in as a 1099r work or do I need to file it as a 8915-e

As well when I was filing since I took a 1099 r was I suppose to select that covid 19 was a natural disaster or was it not considered that for tax purposes

I would recommend going through the retirement section again.  There may be a question that needs to be reviewed based upon the update.

You can review your input under the Federal income section as follows:

  1. Select Income & Expenses
  2. Scroll down to All Income
  3. Select show more to the right of Retirement Plans & Social Security
  4. Select start/revisit to the right of IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)
  5. Select Edit tot the right of the applicable 1099-R on the screen titled Your 1099-R entries.

If after reviewing your input you are still receiving an error message, I would recommend deleting the input and re-entering the 1099-R.  This may correct the issue and apply the update if the steps above to do rectify the message.
