The 1099-NEC will need to be reported on a Schedule C, Profit or Loss from Business, on your 1040 return.  The 1099 form will report all income paid out, and you can claim any expenses you paid under the expense section of the Schedule C form.

To fill out a Schedule C, you will follow these steps:

  1. Click Wage and Income
  2. Scroll Down to Self-Employment, Click Show more
  3. Click Start next to Self-employment income and expense
  4. Click Add another line of work
  5. Answer Interview Questions
