My 1099-G for a 2022 refund was imported into the 2023 return, but I received it on 2024 and took standard deduction in 2022. How to fix it?

If you took the standard deduction in the previous year, it is not taxable and you can remove it.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I took standard deduction in tax year 2022 and 2023.  You provided me the links to remove a form. but I received the 2022 refund in 2024 and the 1099-G form in January 2025, there is no 1099-G form in tax file to remove.

When I file a 2024 return, this 2022 state tax refund amount shows in the 2023 column (in gray, can't edit). How to remove the amount? Thank you!

You should be able to click through the screens, and eventually you will be asked if you took the standard deduction.  Once you click that, the income will removed from your return.

If it is left there without deleting it, would  turbotax properly handle it?

Yes, if you answered that you used the Standard Deduction, then TurboTax will figure that is not taxable. ‌You can preview your return before you file to make sure that the refunds aren't getting added.  You can check by looking at your federal Schedule 1, Line 1.

since you took standard deduction in 2022 you don't have to report anything on your 2023 or 2024 return.

Ignore any document referring to that 2022 refund amount

This dispenses with any TurboTax hassles.
