My 1099-DIV has boxes 2e and 2f. Where are those amounts entered in Turbotax? The are no 2e and 2f fields for entry.

More than likely, you don't need to worry about entering that information.  Boxes 2e and 2f is for section 897 gain attributable to disposition of  U.S. Real Property Interest (USRPI).  Boxes 2e and 2f apply only to foreign persons and entities whose income maintains its character when passed through or distributed to its direct or indirect foreign owners or beneficiaries. If it doesn't apply, you can ignore it.

Thank you.  Would be helpful if that was noted in the input form itself and I didn't have to chase around to find the answer.

I just talked to an "expert" that had to talk to another "expert" and both of them didn't know this information.  I'm glad I found it here by googling this!  Thanks for the help!

Please confirm whether US individual taxpayers need to report amounts in 2e and 2f on 2023 tax returns. There is no option to include these amounts in TurboTax Desktop.

IRS Form 1099-DIV instructions page 3 - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1099div.pdf

Boxes 2e and 2f do not need to be completed for recipients that are U.S. individuals.

Best answer!

1) You answer the question.

2) You cite the IRS documentation.
