May I use schedule C when I receive a pension and get remuneration for a part time job in which taxes are withheld (W-2)? I don't know what a statutory employee is.

Receive a W-2 at end of year for services (lectures) given to students.  I don't know what a statutory employees is or if I am one.

Any way I can do all this and still use schedule C to itemize LEGITIMATE expenses for my job?

No, you cannot use Schedule C to deduct work related expenses if you are an employee, unless you are a Statutory Employee.  You do not qualify as a statutory employee, see: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/statutory-employees

If you want to take a deduction for your business expenses, you will have to do so as an Itemized Deduction on
Schedule A.
