Is there any way to use TurboTax free edition if you have a 1099-NEC to report? Online version of TurboTax is forcing the premium edition at $139.

No, Form 1099-NEC needs to be shown on a tax return, it usually indicates "Non-Employee Compensations" which is considered Self-Employment.

 

Can you provide any details on what the 1099-NEC is reporting? Why did you get it?
