Is Medicare Part B premiums deducted from your benefits a separate line item to be deducted? If so, where?

If you're on Social Security, you will post Medicare parts B, C & D while you're posting the SSA-1099.  This will then carry directly to your schedule A.  If you itemize deductions, it will be included.

You can go back and view your SSA-1099 by going to:

Start at Federal

  1. Select Wages & Income
  2. Scroll to Retirement Plans & Social Security [Show More]
  3. Select Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)
  4. Continue the interview.

You'll then see what you have posted.

When you entered the SSA-1099, did you also enter the Medicare Part B premiums on the same page?  If so, those premium payments are automatically entered as an itemized medical expense on Schedule A.

Just enter it from the SSA-1099.  It will automatically go to Schedule A as a Medical deduction.
