Is it safe to provide my social security number online?

Not on this site it is not good to post any personal data, as this is a public forum.

When you e-file the tax return yes, it is safe.

I just post my information online because I had forgot my password. The information I posted was my address and my Social Security number and after I submit it I thought about it maybe it was a fraud, so now I am puzzled whether I should have put that information on there or not. It’s so much scam and Spam and whatever else going on so you don’t know who to trust. I hope I did not make a mistake

I don't understand your question.

 

Turbotax is secure, and you must include your SSN to file a tax return.  This support forum is public and not secure, and you should not post anything here that you don't want your worst enemy to be able to read.  If you have tax questions, you can post your questions but don't give your name, SSN or birth date.
