IRA contribution When it asks if I have made an IRA contribution or Roth contribution, do the amounts on the W-2 Box 12 apply to this question?

No, the amounts reported on the W-2 do not apply to this question in the IRA section. The question refers to IRAs that you set up yourself, for example, at your local bank. Contributions to this type of IRA are not reported on a W-2.

If you contributed to a SIMPLE-IRA at work, you'll see the amount you contributed listed on your W-2 in Box 12 with code S. You should only enter this in the W-2 section of TurboTax.
