In 2019 I had a job as an independent contractor. In 2020 I did not have that job anymore. My taxes are asking me for a 1099-NEC. I don't have one. What do I do?

TurboTax programs, as a service to users, transfers pertinent information from last year's return into the current return.  One thing that transfers in are sources of income.  Did you have a Schedule C business in 2019?  If so, you'll need to properly "dispose" of that business in TurboTax.  See the instructions in the TurboTax FAQ linked below for deleting that Schedule C that transferred over.

How do I delete a prior-year Schedule C business that transferred over?

If you still have the issue with the 1099-NEC, you can delete that form specifically by following the instructions here ,

Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it. I was able to go into the tools section and delete the form that was holding me back.
