If you inherited a Roth IRA, how is the question "Were any of your Roth IRA(s) set up before 2017?" Is that based on the initial account or when you inherited it?

Distributions from an inherited Roth are not taxable unless the Roth was established within the past 5 years. For this reason you are being asked if the Roth was set up before 2017.  For more information you can click the link below.

How am I supposed to know whether my inherited Roth was established within the last five years ??
