If I retired midyear in 2020, and started receiving SS benefits, does Turbotax calculate regular Federal income taxes on the social security benefits?

0-85% of your Soc Sec is taxable, depending upon your other (Joint) income.  Yes, TT calculates it.  Enter your SSA-1099 in Federal > Wages and Income> Retirement > Social Security.
