If I received a small refund from Florida's unclaimed money list do I need to list it as some kind of income, and if so where and how?

Yes, you do have a fiduciary responsibility to report this extra income on your tax return even though there is not tax document that reports the income. To report this:

  • Click Federal > Wages & Income>all income>
  • Go to the last selection, Miscellaneous Income and click Start
  • Go to the last option, Other reportable income and click Start
  • When it asks, "Any other reportable income?" say yes and then type in a description and the amount to report it on your tax return.
